Everything inside the points cover looks to be in great shape. It is likely a bad wire that needs to be replaced which should pretty straightforward. This is a very hard to find original Bosch fu4 4-cylinder base mount magneto. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see know of.
It has good magnetism and puts out a nice blue spark on three of the wires but not fourth one. I can be reached at if you'd like to talk about it. Let the pictures be your guide.
It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape three of holes but kind weak one which could easily be repaired with helical type repair. Everything seems to work as it should. It is clockwise rotation and the impulse works as should. These original fu4 magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one an authentic restoration heres a really nice.
It was used on some of the hart parr tractors and portable engines probably had other 4-cylinder applications like cross motor case early cars trucks. It turns over very nicely and seems to have little wear in the bearings or impulse.
