1. Availability: The recast/repro version can be more readily available than original parts, especially for discontinued or hard-to-find items.
2. Cost-effective: Recast/repro parts are often less expensive than their original counterparts, making them a budget-friendly option.
3. Functional: As long as the recast/repro is made with good quality materials and craftsmanship, it should function similarly to an original part.
Cons:1. Quality concerns: There may be inconsistencies in the quality of recast/repro parts, as they are not produced by the original manufacturer.
2. Durability: The durability of recast/repro parts might not be as reliable as original parts, leading to potential issues down the line.
3. Fit: There could be issues with the fit of recast/repro parts, which may require modifications or adjustments to make them work properly.
Conclusion:Buying a 6N102 Fuller Johnson Hit-and-Miss Engine Ignitor Pawl (Recast/Repro) can be a cost-effective solution for replacing hard-to-find or discontinued parts. However, it's essential to ensure that the quality of the recast/repro is up to par and that it fits correctly to avoid potential issues. If you prioritize quality and durability over cost, it may be worth investing in an original part. On the other hand, if you're on a tight budget or unable to find the original part, a well-made recast/repro could serve as a viable alternative. Carefully research the seller and read customer reviews before making a purchase to increase the likelihood of receiving a high-quality recast/repro part.
Two pins, one bolt and the flat stock for trip lever is what needed. Very easy to do with a drill or mill. See pics and you decide. One is 1/2 and the other rest of parts are steel so this cast hard to find.
Needs 4 small holes drilled as well cut for the adjustment. My 4hp was broken so I had this cast. This is a recast. Very nice quality casting.
Original came off my engine. I have a recast repro of ignitor pawl for 4 or 6 hp Fuller and Johnson engine model n, as per the parts book. The only difference I see between small engines and larger ones is diameter of push rod hole. It might fit other model engines but you be the judge.
