1. Efficiency: These engines are designed to be highly efficient, converting a significant portion of the fuel energy into mechanical work.
2. Power: Depending on the specific model, these engines can provide a decent amount of power, suitable for various light to medium-duty applications.
3. Availability: Hired engines can be a cost-effective solution for temporary or occasional use, eliminating the need for a large initial investment and ongoing maintenance costs.
4. Flexibility: Gas-powered engines can be used in various environments, making them versatile for different projects and locations.
Cons:1. Emissions: Gas engines produce exhaust emissions, which can contribute to air pollution. This may be a concern for environmentally-conscious users or those operating in restricted areas.
2. Noise: Gas engines can be noisy, which might be an issue for residential or quiet work environments.
3. Maintenance: While hired engines eliminate the initial investment, they still require regular maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
4. Dependence: Renting engines means you're dependent on the supplier for timely delivery and replacement, which could potentially disrupt your workflow.
Conclusion:The 1-4 HP hired gas engine motor ignitor steam associated can be a practical choice for temporary or occasional use, offering adequate power and efficiency for light to medium-duty tasks. However, it's essential to consider the potential downsides, such as emissions, noise, maintenance requirements, and dependence on the supplier.
Recommendation:If you require an engine for temporary use or have limited budget for the initial investment and ongoing maintenance costs, hiring a 1-4 HP gas engine may be a suitable option. However, for regular or long-term use, it might be more cost-effective and practical to invest in your own engine, considering factors such as emissions, noise, and long-term maintenance costs. Always weigh the pros and cons based on your specific needs and circumstances before making a decision.
I can also ship it quite reasonably through fastens. This is one of the harder to find Associated sizes. You'll like it.
It is an earlier engine with the straight ignitor trip and I don't think ever had a magneto on. It has the original belt pulley and name tag on. I think with a little fresh gas and battery coil this engine would fire right up make noise. It is fresh from an old collection where lived for many years.
I can be reached at if you'd like to talk about it. It would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or Associated lineup. There is very little wear on the gearing or in bearings. This could be cleaned up a bit and look little more presentable if you so choose.
Here is a pretty nice old 2/1 4hp Associated hired man hit and miss gas engine. It turns over nicely with decent compression and everything seems to move function as should. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks or repairs other than the missing speed changing screw and some heavy solder a new filler neck on original embossed gas tank. The pictures tell story.
I can deliver this for free to sumac, WI, bamboo, Portland, in, or cool spring, pa, engine shows several offers later year.
